Afterschool/Library Programme

The NAWA After School/Library project was set up inorder to provide a holistic educational intervention to successfully increase the intellectual and moral capacity of girls in Ogoyo community as well as other communities along Lekki-Epe expressway. NAWA organises the Afterschool/ Library programme for disadvantaged girls in secondary schools, providing them with makeup lessons in their school curriculum as well as vocational training eg Sewing, Cookery Arts and Craft in its centre situated in Ogoyo (a local community Off Ilaje, Lekki-Epe expressway), Lagos State. The curriculum comprises of Guided study, Lessons/Tutorials, Mentoring and Arts and Craft. The library project allows girls access to a variety of books for academic and recreational reading.

We believe that this will provide economic relief to families and help girls proceed to institutions of higher learning as well as increase their earning power. The program hopes to get funding for a bigger structure to allow a greater number of girls benefit from the project.
